«Metamorphosis»

Lerski began work on the project «Transformation Through Light» at the end of 1935 on the roof terrace of the house of the architects Ornstein & Liaskowski at 42 Ahad-Haam Street in Tel Aviv. Over the course of three months, he took 175 photographs of a single face in the blazing morning sun. With these images, he intended to prove «...that the lens doesn't need to be objective, that the photographer, with the help of this very light, can freely create, freely characterize according to his inner vision.»
